Koinonia Classroom

What Is Koinonia Classroom?

Koinonia Classroom was created out of the need to move our camp programming into a virtual form. We provide Special Education classroom in Anderson, Blount, and Knox counties with 5 hour-long activity videos. Videos include camp songs and activities facilitated by our amazing volunteers that have goals aligning with students’ IEP goals. Activities range from Exercise to Yoga to Music and Movement to STEM! This program is FREE to all schools and classrooms participating. When participating in this program, you will receive: access to the video library, a master teacher book (including all lesson plans and additional resources), supplies for each student to complete every activity, and necessary respite from planning for your classroom!

In 2022, only the second year of Koinonia Classrooms conception, we served 876 students and 90 classrooms in the surrounding area. Our theme for this year was under the sea and our students were able to participate in countless educational and fun activities such as making a paper plate ukulele, a shark pudding cup, a pirate hand drum, and more!

We are already looking forward to 2023! If you have any questions about the program or are interested for next year, email us at kftn.org and check our website and Facebook for updates.
