These are monthly events uniquely designed to provide adults with disabilities opportunities to socialize, engage in leisure activities, and promote independence. These events also provide families and caregivers time for respite, which is where you come in! We need volunteers to hang out as peers with our participants. We do a variety of events each month, ranging from movie nights to local trips to day camp-styled events! Check out our Events page for an updated calendar of events.
This is The Foundations newest program, serving K-12 students in Anderson, Blount, and Knox County schools, as well as several nearby city schools. Koinonia Classroom is facilitated through a series of themed, long-form videos that walk students through completing a camp-style activity. Volunteer opportunities for this program occur November through January. Opportunities to volunteer range from filming activities in front of a camera, packing student supply bags, and lending a hand when teachers come to pick up their supplies!
